Travel happens on day 1 after 0000z, not day 0. So technically it is 16z days. If you come out prior to 0000z, then yes....it would be 17 days.

As far as getting home, I’ve had them send me home (Business Class from Europe) on day 15 because there was nothing that I was legal to fly.

Your schedule is measured in Zulu time, so once you grasp that, you will find that you only work 16 days max.

Just call it a 17 day trip, no need to make it sound better because of the Z day. Also don't expect to be gone less than 17 days, there's still an old guard in management that run on "we don't pay people to stay at home."

Does less than 17 days happen, sure but also be ready to be flown out to random city and sit for a day, or two, or three before you actually touch an airplane. It busy, so not likely in the current environment but it can happen.

However you count it.....it’s 16 nights that you are not sleeping in your bed.

Yes this is fortunately by rue. During non COVID times and when things slow down you will be staying In very nice hotels, in nice cities, enjoying a nice mini vacation.

It's 16 calendar days whether you choose to look at it from a z day perspective, 'merica time, China time, Turkey time or the Gregorian calendar concept. I go to work after 0000Z on day one, and come home before 23:59Z on day 16. That is 16 days...

Yeah, that’s what I meant. I believe some other companies travel you on your no kidding days off. That sucks. We have a pretty good deal.

Whether it’s 16 or 17, if that’s too much for you and your family life or personal situation, don’t apply. These schedules aren’t for everybody.

the company is only considering internals with Boeing NG time. In order of preference:
- 777 typed;
- Heavy Boeing typed; or
- Any Boeing NG time.
Spots are naturally very limited. Not sure if it was addressed but recall rights are not messed with. Since there is a bid out that may essentially devastate the 767 staffing, I imagine some 767 spots opening up in a backfill.

So I know hiring is by internal rec only at this point, but is there an email that resumes could be sent in to? Military guy with 9 years in KC-10 about to separate in December. I don't know anyone with the company.
