Kalitta Air (K4) Information

From the CBA
"4. If the Company acquires a Type not previously in its fleet, all non- Probationary Crewmembers who bid for that Type may, at the Company’s discretion, have the existing equipment lock waived."
I am not thinking the company will be interested in waiving the seat lock. There is nothing in it for them.

An FO upgrading to CA is not subject to a seat lock under the CBA period.
“Crewmembers making progressive bids (e.g. Flight Engineer bidding to First Officer; First Officer bidding to Captain) shall not be subject to any seat/equipment lock. ”
For sideways bids on new equipment.. they can waive it if they want (not sure they would)

This is an uncharacteristically non confrontational post. Info only from the center of the universe...
Training and OE backlog is pretty deep. So, the application window is closed for the moment. Christmas rush will eat into the OE backlog. And, other than ground school and CBTs, there is no schoolhouse activity in December.
Staffing is a endlessly floating target. Best guess is after the first of the year we will be back on full speed ahead with classes every 3 weeks or so. If (And I do mean "if") all of the airframes in play turn up on property, we will need around 250 ish additional pilots over the next 24 months.
So, we will most likely be back in app/interview mode early next year.
My $0.02, it is a great job. Nothing is perfect. But, I think our flying is varied enough to keep your days interesting and your layovers fun. Worth putting in an application and worth giving us a serious look as a career.
Not too many airlines where you get the opportunity to be flying your regional jet from the hub to Little Rock in January and flying a 747 to Hong Kong in March.

I have yet to find a single person that said they want the 777. You won't see the airframe until Jun/Jul and then when it arrives there are proving runs etc. It will make for a nice vacation in more ways than one (right now only sim time available is in Singapore, so it's rumored).
Some of the 2 year "vet's" on the 767 are rumored to want to head over to the 744. Would PMSL if the 777 went new hire off the street CA
