All this big talk about a strike. Isn't going to happen anytime soon. Very likely that we'll never be released. Sadly, that means we won't be getting a new contract anytime soon either.

8 new hires who were almost finished with 400 school were told they were going to be switched to the classic. Best part was they weren't gonna finish ioe and come off of training pay for 5-6 more months. So that would've been 7-8 months at $600 a week training pay.
I guess if the rumors of National shutting down are true, they'll have a few guys desperate for work and will take anything.
And regarding my comment about getting it done by September they were twofold. That was when the cool down period would've ended, and from the past experience the company doesn't negotiate past then because it's going into the busy season of our world. Union pilots go back to work on the line, mediator goes on holiday, and the company scrapes by with guys willing to fly overtime for a few extra pennies. I won't name names, but one guy always comes up in conversation because he openly admits he can't afford not to work on his days off because he can't pay for all his toys.
Everyone has opinions. Who is right or wrong, doesn't matter. People come to this site to learn. Those who want this job, will dig for the truth, research, and come up with their own opinions. I won't get into a discussion and be dragged into a slugfest, because I simply don't care if a person thinks I am wrong or if I am right. Just expressing my thoughts here. But I feel one thing is for certain, the fewer people who show up for interviews and for class, the better it is for those of us here now. We can't staff what we have. I ignore the calls for OT, and I won't do it.
K4 has the potential to be a good place to hang your hat. But untill the bossman has his bottom line affected, and he takes a hit, nothing will happen and it'll be Groundhog Day for eternity.
