Default Schedules

Considering applying and was wanting some insiders info on what a typical month is like. Types of trips, days on in a row, destinations etc. Thanks.

Read the previous post for that information. Not a traditional 121 carrier with a seniority based scheduling system In a nutshell 16 days on. Around the world. Paid to fly to work and get a hotel. Nice airplanes, great crewmates, good catering, decent to great hotels, and good pay. Remember the big one. 16 days on. If you cannot be away from home for 16 days a month then don't even think of applying. If you cannot survive on 64 hours a month pay then don't even think of applying.

Just to add on. As a new hire, there may be times that you'll be working back to back, so just be ready for possibly being out for 32 straight. I'm not sure how often it happens but just be aware.

Pretty much happened to me the first 5 years I worked at K4. Second half of December and the First half of January. But remember you had to get there during the year. I usually had 29 days off from the middle of October until the middle of November. I actually enjoyed traveling the world during the holidays. The time goes by very quickly.

since you can live where you want, being home-based.. where is a good place to live so that you don't have a super-long commute? Or do they frequently fly you to different places?
I'm in a position to move and live just about anywhere; I don't want to move to, say FLL, but spend many hours going to ANC and back just to work.

Any idea how much flight time they want before you are deemed competitive?
