Hello, I'm new hear and just inquiring...so you made this amount your first / second year at a regional? Am I understanding this correctly, and is this a normal amount to make in the industry and the economy at this time? Thanks for your time.

I don't spend most of my per diem on food so I count it. As for 401k, even though I can't spend it today it's definitely compensation but I'll post with and without both...

$68,495 without per diem, 401k match, or company HSA contribution

+$3,400 matching
+$5,936 per diem
+$1,800 HSA contribution

$79,631

My apps are out...

What exactly makes it low class?

Then have some class and don't read it. If you actually want an answer though, read the thread.

Great info. You might learn something. Or not.

This has been addressed already, numerous times.

If you don't like it why are you reading it?

Giving you honest feedback (with regards to your observation)...

It is no surprise that most airlines are getting ready to ramp up their hiring in the near future. Though our industry is very volatile and cyclical, the pay is more or less pretty similar amongst the Major airlines. What sets the companies apart are work rules.

As people start researching which airlines they want to focus their applications on, having as much information as possible to make an informed decision on a 30+ year career, is pretty wise.

I am a Deltoid, but having lurked on this forum for a couple of weeks now, I have observed that the work rules must be pretty good at SWA, as they appear to make good money. They seem to fly the most, averaging the highest block hours, but also appear to work the fewest days per year.

Do I want to spend 800+ block hours in a 737? No thank you...but flying only 12 days a month sounds pretty awesome and enticing.

AA, UA and DAL all seem to have pretty good options to sit at home on reserves, and fly a little. I could list the pros and cons for every company based on what people have been posting...and that is the intent of this topic. Thank you to those who have positively contributed!

Wow, you ARE new "hear" then! These are the normal income levels you can expect during flight school and the years immediately following while "building time"! The best part? It only goes up from there! You'll never see your pay or benefits decrease due to economic hiccups, world events, management buffoonery or any other factors outside of your control. What a hell of a bizzz, amiright fellas!?

I'm with Albie. Remember/capitalize on the good times to lessen the blow from the bad times.
