Reminds me of the scene in planes, trains and automobiles where Steve Martin is ranting at the Rental car lady. After a tirade of F-bombs, she politely tells him he is F-ed. NWA Capt=Steve Martin, NWA Flight Office= rental car lady.

I'd like to see the FAA attempt enforcement action for that...his company has grounds to chew his ass, but not the feds.
Could they could get his atp for not being " of good moral character"?

From reading a news article on it, it sounds like locked himself in the lav screaming and basically had a nervous breakdown.

I'm confused. Not the first time. But why would he be taken off the flight? What has happen to our industry in the last 20 years? If you ask me, he can cuss all he wants. There is no violation here at all. Pilots continue to let the media and management take control and beat them in the press.

Gosh I miss flying on Pan Am and TWA, They controlled the whole show. That Captain should have told the Scheduling to go pack sand.

"Standby to be censored...For your use of pseudo-profanity"

Did you get the message?

That sort of thing will be moderated out when noticed.

I'm guessing he didn't have spiky hair, a back-pack, or an i-pod while dropping f bombs, so the profession is still safe.
Could someone explain the backpack thing to me? I've heard that it was frowned upon, but I don't get why.

Sounds like another great day at NWA! I'm sure he's not the only one over there at the breaking point. My buds tell me morale has never been lower.

It's all about big corporate BS and perceptions blah blah blah...

The captain is not in charge anymore. The stock holders are. Guess who the higher ups are backing. The FAA probably can't touch him but I'd guess he's finished at NWA. Sad but true.

Would the pilot been justified for bouncing a passenger for doing the same thing? If so, why the double standard?

Based on what I read about the incident if I was a passenger I would have collared a gate agent or got off the flight altogether. Regardless of what the FARs say, I want an emotionally stable flight crew.

Did I get the message? What message? I was thinking my hidden profanity just magically disappeared. Gee willickers. You mean someone friggin' noticed? Golly! I thought I'd hidden it pretty darn good, too.

You need to adjust your medication. Just a tad! Really. Take a chill pill, my friend.
