attendance/reliability program

I worked at a regional where they would pay for the doctor's visit. Apparently we had a CA that went in by ambulance and asked for just about every test you could administer. Company paid $$$$$ for a simple doctor's note, after that they stopped asking to see a doctors note.
Serves them right. If they can't trust me to be a good judgement on my own well being then they shouldn't trust behind the controls of the a/c.

I'm sure ALPA legal could address this better but if my company were making me fear for my job if I didn't fly sick I would make dam sure I ASAP'd it. Something like, "I didn't feel that I was at my best to fly but felt that my job, the welfare of my family, was in jeopardy if I didn't."
It would have to be worded carefully but I'm sure there's a way that it could be worded.

ASAP will not protect you from INTENTIONAL violations.
If you go on record saying you knew you were not fit but flew anyway, you just admitted to an intentional violation. That would get the ASAP thrown out for sure, and they might even be able to use the report against you!

Agree with the cautions on using ASAP in this instance.
Another way to do it though would be to call in sick and still write the ASAP. “I felt comany pressure to not call in sick, but I was unfit to fly. I called sick, but I am concerned others might be flying sick due to the company’s policy. This is a safety concern that needs to change... “
Agreed. That doesn't mean it can't be done. Allot can happen on a 6+ flight. "my throat felt itchy and I thought that there was a chance I might be coming down with something but, due to the pressure from the company I ignored the itching. By the time I landed in XXX I felt that I was not have been at my best if there had been an emergency.... "
