Not furloughed but out on medical for several years now. A friend of mine introduced me to "Makerspace" which has a variety of Woodworking, Metalworking, 3D Printing, Pottery & Other crafts. The one here in CLT has a large IT department with a bunch of donated computers, most of them 7-15 years old. They refurbish them and donate to various charities and non-profits. I've been doing that, I like tinkering with computers and it's for a good cause. There are people there who make money doing stuff with the Laser Cutter, CNC Router, etc. I'm toying with the idea of getting checked out on the Laser Cutter, I'll attach a sample someone made with it.

My brother retires as a widebody FO in September and I was hoping to bepop around the world with him until then, but it looks like the lockdowns in Europe are quashing that. He has Paris turns this month, but they want you to lock down for two weeks after arriving. I had visions of backpacking around Europe, something I hoped to do after college, but the Army had other plans.
Building a kayak. It's helped with my sanity. Now I can be frustrated about resin curing, aligning seems, sanding out drips and such.

That's what I'm thinking. "Travel light, freeze at night."

If you were furloughed for a year or two and didn’t need to worry about getting another job while on furlough, what would you do with your time off? So far I’ve thought of these ideas, but I’m trying to add to the list.
- buy a camper and hit the road for a year
- hike the AT or PCH

Last year in my down time I went to every Ball Park in America. Ended up catching 32 MLB games all in all. 30 regular season games, 1 in each stadium, plus a pre-season spring training game in Phoenix, and a Playoff game in Houston. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Whatever your sport is or whoever your team is, go follow them around for a season.
