DL 4/5 year 737 FO
159k includes flight pay and per diem
24k NEC DC
183k total compensation.

Very lazy this year. Probably 70hrs per month or less average. Line holding commuter. All holidays and weekends off. Bid reserve by choice a couple of times. Didn't fly too much, but short call days were kind of a pain.

It is amazing as most Americans think of Canada as a much more fertile ground for unionization in general, but somehow that doesn't seem to make it to their aviation sector......

The union culture in aviation in Canada seems to be: I had to suffer so you should too (Older Generations to Younger), and you should be grateful to even have the chance to be inside an airplane.

I think that attitude is prevalent everywhere. I’ve never seen a pilot happy that the younger generation has a quicker path in than they might have had. I chalk that up to human nature really.

Canadia is just a prime example of socialism. It doesn’t bring everybody up, it keeps everybody low (except the pigs, they’re more equal than the other animals).

Sorry for thread drift. 😬

This thread seems pretty simple...

How much did you make
How much did you work

If you disagree with what others define as a day of "work" vs a day "off" that's all well and good, which is why many people are providing context.

There's a ton of nuance that can go into this discussion where all of us smartest bestest pilot Type As can argue the definition of "is"...granularity on things like hard days off, moved days off, vacation days, unused reserve/long call, reschedules, displacements, etc....but that can be done without continued schisseposting on this thread with what YOU happen to think something should or shouldn't be called.
