I like how it’s Putin’s fault, never mind that WE put the sanctions on him and WE stopped buying his oil. Along with Europe. Yeah, I don’t like that he invaded Ukraine and started a war, but these pains are self-inflicted because we put it on ourselves as a way to punish Russia. So far, none of it seems to have done anything except to prolong what is pretty much inevitable for Ukraine.

Airlines are “too big to fail”. Major airlines employ too many people in too many different states. They’ll be bailed out if needed.
(Exception: they are the definition of anti green transport, so they could also become Public Enemy No 1).

Maybe if you vote Democrat, you'll get a free electric private jet.

Amen to this. And for that reason alone we are just stockpiling savings. We have not changed the way of life even a little bit despite a huge pay raise we got at our company….save save save save save save save save save save save save save save save…can’t say it enough. Save. Ok one more time…

There's a lot of things going on geopolitically right now that could push our economy off a cliff. The Chinese economy is becoming increasingly unstable and the situation with Russia & Ukraine could escalate quickly with Europe; look at at all the developments the past couple weeks with NATO and Russia -- huge escalatory moves. Of course, all the political posturing could result in nothing substantive in the overall American economy, but it so easily could send us into a tailspin as well. While there are a lot of factors that could result in the U.S. airlines shedding the impacts of an economic recession (short-staffed, retirements, seemingly still high travel demand, relatively low unemployment rate, etc.), there's significant headwinds that could easily turn this into a circa-Y2K situation.
It feels like there's two realities right now -- one grim, one bright, but eventually the two have to intersect. The divergence is largely due to COVID and the subsequent disruptions to supply chains, labor markets, infusion of cash into economy via quantitive easing, etc. There will be a reckoning though. For our sakes, hopefully it's a soft landing...

So Americans are being sent by the US gov to directly fight Russia? Did you reach that conclusion from Breitbart, Newsmax, OANN, or My Pillow? Just trying to see who has the dopest propaganda headlines these days.

At the start of the war there was a push from both the left and the right to have US forces establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine. The Ukrainians demanded it, and the media was pushing for it. It didn't happen because the American public is tired of war and did not want a direct confrontation with a major world power that would probably have had set off WWIII. Everyone settled for pouring out their Stoli vodka that had already been paid for and isn't really even made in Russia, and putting a Ukraine flag on their profile picture. These days, with the fact that Ukraine is taking massive casualties and losing territory daily, the media has simply moved on, and stopped talking about it. In the midst of record inflation, however, both Ds and Rs are perfectly happy to launder billions of dollars into Ukraine and further erode the value of your money, as well as impose sanctions on Russia that have done nothing to harm Russia, but are hurting working Americans financially.

I'm actually hoping for the best. The reality is, however, that the current regime is hostile to the US economy and is still trying hard to escalate the Ukraine-Russia conflict into WWIII. We're stuck with what we've got for now.
