I don't know? Delta's average has been 5000+tt and 2500+pic.

I got my info from the UNITED ALPA MEC ref the mins I posted.......That's what UAL told them, and they told me, would be nice if it was lower don't get me wrong, but that's what I was told for now!

I also rechecked my email from him, and yes it did copy right as saying PIC (Turbojet) time.......and ATP Certification...........

Like another poster said, maybe this is what they want, then they get a reality check, but again as of now that is what UAL has told ALPA they are going to be.

Best of luck to everyone that applies!!!!

In all reality, why shouldn't they have the 1,000pic requirement, there are thousands of RJ guys out there that have this as well as Turbo-Prop guys, as well as 135 guys, as well as part 91 guys, as well as military guys......you see where Im going with this?

Hi!

The DAL apps. That was then, this is now. Also, you're comparing DAL to UAL.

The other thing, is many of the apps will be the same people, and they'll also have their apps in at a number of other places.

I'm sure they'll get plenty of apps, but how many will meet the mins, and how many will UAL consider to be "excellent" candidates?

We just started advertising for direct DC-9 FOs. In the first 50 resumes, only about 6 of them were what we were looking for.

I wouldn't doubt that many in the first wave will be similar to CAL and DAL. Friends and Family. And in the last 7 years, I'm sure there has ammassed a healthy amount of both.

Do you think there might be a SLIGHT difference between where you are and UAL? Not picking on you, or making a case for UAL. But it's an apples to bowling balls comparison.

I completely agree. There are lots of qualified pilots who have been in the left seat at a regional since 9/11.

There are several reasons why they won't...

- They feel no obligation whatsoever to provide an opportunity to 7-year RJ captains who are waiting in the wings. They might have hiring criteria which they consider more important than RJ PIC time...affirmative action, legacies, education, etc.

- I have been told that a significant part of their hiring formula will be based on leadership...RJ PIC counts, but they will also count many other types of leadership experience (military, business, etc).

- Unlike DAL, UAL is bleeding cash and gave a up a LOT of workrules and QOL (DAL kept most workrules). A senior RJ captain at a decent regional would have trouble justifying a jump to UAL (some will of course). They will not have as many quality applicants as DAL. Well they might get a lot of apps, but there will a significant amount of "Sport Interviews" where the applicant gets an offer but didn't really intend to accept.

You sure do seem to know alot about the industry. This coming from a former mesa now scabwest pilot. Why don't you talk about your hate for alpa or you could talk about how will #uck over any pilot(ASA) for that quick skywest upgrade. Please explain more the industry to us. Do tell.
