Theres about 36 left to be delivered. Combo of -8 and -9. There’ll be a total of 89 when all said and done. 67 triple sevens currently on property but of course some of those 200’s are twenty plus yo, so the consensus around here is that some will be parked soon.

That's kinda the thing. As previously noted that it would be hard to trade trips with only 110 FOs at CLE, but at AA there can be 1500 guys in your bid status, and you can't trade, drop or add, because everything is so locked down.
I was over my buddies house and I asked him to show me UA's trip trade system, you just check a box next to the trip to drop and a box next to the one to add, done, none of this ballots, DOTCs, running ballots twice a day at weird times song and dance that you have to do at AA just to be denied.

2) Get to ORD as soon as you can. You'll sink in seniority, but driving is way better. Plus, you'll still be at a better seniority in less than 2 yrs then guys had for most of their careers. ORD isn't going anywhere. And there is always the XLR carrot on the string too; if they ever put busses there.

It can be done, but not solo, you'll be paying for an instructor/babysitter. A Caravan or King Air might be cheapest, just charter it on the condition that the pilot is a CFI and you get dual instruction. If your schedule is flexible, a 135 op would be happy to do it to fill up some downtime.

I can't believe I'm making one of these threads.
34 years old. 13 months at AA, live in NE Ohio, fly the C-17 close by, have 8 years left to 20 for the military retirement.
Bidding 20% NYC FO on narrow body, very easy commute, but still a commute, decent schedule for a year on property, could be a line holding 777 FO in another year in NYC, have thought about bidding 737 captain when I wouldn't be the very bottom. We all know AA's pros and shortcomings so I'll save the typing. Was planning on moving to a senior AA base and commuting the military gig eventually.
Have the opportunity to jump to United where I can drive to work at CLE or commute to ORD for a better run airline with more wide bodies and a desire to not be the worlds largest regional.
Obviously contract 2023 is the big unknown for both places. Frankly I am keeping my FedEx app updated, but that's a pipe dream at best.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

If you want to drive to work and not move, UA may be the way to go. All the BS reserve drama that UAL has is pretty much a non issue when you live 15 minutes from the airport.
AA has a better commuter clause than United (which requires 2 flights).
UA uses CLE crews to cover the 737 international flying out of EWR (Azores and rumors of Iceland when/if the Max 10 replace the 757-200s).
Mid 30s is still fairly young in UAL new hire classes. If you were talking about any other solo UAL base besides Cleveland the move would probably be a no brainer. CLE is kind of small and management doesn’t seem to be willing to commit to growing it outside of having it take on international flying in the 737 because it’s got a smaller number of crews to qualify.

-Keeping 772s longer than planned because of the earlier than planned retirements of the A332s.
-772s are paid for. Need them in service to generate revenue. AA needs all the revenue it can get to service debt. For now, cost of maintaining 772s is way cheaper than taking on new debt from a new WB order.
-After AA gets debt down, expect some sort of WB order. Likely a combination of 789/7810 to replace 772s. Wont be a 1:1 replacement… doesn’t expect 47 more 789/7810 but another small A321XLR order to go along with the 789/7810 to free up more of the current 788s to take up prior 772/789 routes.
-There have been conversations with other airlines and Boeing on offloading 772s to some cargo carriers and picking up used 773s. The company likes the economics of used 773s but only at a certain price. Those talks have stalled.
-Doesn’t expect 350s or 777X. Too expensive.

Per a certain fleet manager…

Also, why is a 772 "out of date" at 20yrs when the 757's are going strong at nearly 30yrs in?

Ny interpretation about the 350 being “too expensive” is in regards to sims, separate fleet, etc. AA mgmt is obsessed with reducing fleet types. Delta mgmt isn’t. We know which mgmt team is better.
