Don't do it on the guppy or any other cramped flight deck if there is even one seat in the back. I don't even open up the second jumpseat if the flight's too long. I commuted for most of my career and if the only option was the second guppy jumpseat, I waited for the next flight.

on the 737, it’s not ZERO impact….but having said that, I’m never going to deny a commuter because it’s imposing on me a slight bit. I am an a$$h0le in many ways, but professional courtesy is not one of them.

I’m on the 757/767 and I’ll offer it if the guy is JSing. Maybe he wants to be first off and/or avoid a middle seat way in the back. Extra set of eyes never hurts maybe he’ll see something we both miss.
