If you have the Black card you get to cut the line I believe.

If you're talking about Centurion Lounge, they both paid for the same annual fee. What's the issue?

What kind of ticket you have makes no difference to centurion lounge. You could have spirit and the guy next to you could have emirates first class. Same line

black card (invitation only to get, spend in excess 100k annually I think) gets you out of line and just talk to the host (aka line monitor)

I get that.. I was responding to someone who made it sound like the paying passener shouldn't be standing in line with non rev passengers. My point is, if they are both paying fo the same annual fee, they should get the same benefits.

Priority pass (included with Platinum card) makes up for not being able to get into the Centurion Lounge and Delta Sky Club as a non-rev. Priority pass lounges are nicer overseas too compared to the states

So I should be able to list for a 8 AM nonrev flight I have zero chance of making, for $0, then come into the Centurion lounge and take up space and eat and drink all day long for free, and come back every single day? Right alongside the actual traveler who actually paid money for their ticket and is actually trying to use the lounge to make their travel easier? That doesn't seem like a great system to me.

Like most things going wrong these days, the attempt to make everything fair and open to all has made the entire system suck. It's like a dumbed-down version of socialism that instead of lifting everyone, brings everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

That the benefit afforded to members who pay their annual dues for the AMEX PLATINUM card. Before hanging up the goggles 3 yeas ago, I had no problem in the Centurion Lounges, even traveling in uniform.

To access a centurion lounge, they scan your BP and need to see a seat assignment. Even revenue standby tickets don't get you access. You can try to sweet talk the reception people, that works sometimes.
But a non-rev who has a seat and a boarding pass gets in no problems.

You can't get in to the Centerion lounge as a non-rev so your example doesn't really apply. I guess if you were on a DH and had a confirm seat than that's different.
