As much as I dislike him, you have to give credit to the Trump administration, specifically Mnuchin, for the CARES act. It really did help stabilize the economy, help us avoid furlough, and enable airlines to bounce back quickly during the recovery.

hindsight is a hell of a thing. the landscape in may 2020 was deeply unclear

Sort of. By end of summer, smarter people KNEW what was REALLY going on.......

That whole "we didn't know what we didn't know" mantra is only good for rationalizng the first maybe 3-4 months.

I don’t think it was a difficult decision really….”The Great Depression” was a good case study of not printing cash, when we should have.

Thats said, the administration could have completely hosed everything.

also flushed a whole lot of fraudsters with tons of free money to help buy all these premium seats and European vacations the last few years…
