You are talking about abusing a system after a previously agreed upon RETIREMENT age.
If you struggle to see the difference, you are doing a lot of mental gymnastics trying to justify yourself. You know the truth.

No, you could not. SS is a retirement system, unemployment is not. You hit a known retirement age of your job. It's unsurprising that this crowd doesn't see the difference.

Are these people going to apply for section 8 housing too? Where’s the cutoff? Collecting social security but not unemployment is a fair cutoff

FWIW, in Pennsylvania you can claim unemployment for a year(?) When you hit 65. Some guys even switch bases at 64 to do it. It’s basically state mandated participation in an unemployment insurance, and even those that live out of state also pay it.

They commute for a year for a few pennies of unemployment. Work smarter nor harder!

If a LEPFer runs a race and he finishes in first place, is he happy he won or is he mad he's the "first one kicked out of the sporting event" while the slower competitors are still allowed to run?

I’m trying to say that they are both paid for benefits. Some on here are trying to say if u make too much money like most of us do that you don’t need the money and save it for those less fortunate. I guess my question was if you don’t need it why take SS? Should you Leave it for the less fortunate?
