Get ready for:
-Mentoring/Safety
-Being a true aviator/enjoying the status or identity
-Age discrimination

Which can be countered with:
-Get a CFI, Part 135, or sim job where you can do said things
-Go fly an RV or Stearman, pursue altruism through Angel flight, Aircare alliance, etc. Get a life outside of your identity of being an airline pilot.
-The Age Discrimination in Employment Act has BFOQ. Did you only begin caring about it once it impacted you or have you been fighting it for decades? How noble…

Yes, because I’m in my 50s and will be retiring in my 50s.

Until then, you'll continue whining like a spayed puppy while people senior to you effectively advocate for getting something for you that you don't yet realize you really want.

For the record, It ain't going to happen in my career. I'm not "stealing" anything from anyone and I'm not holding any ring. You're going to be just fine. I promise. And I'm definitely taking the over on you.
I'm glad it won't happen in your career. I'll be more glad if it doesn't happen in my career, which will be much shorter than yours. While people junior to you advocate against something that you didn't want when you were junior either. And please take the over, because I'd love yet another opportunity for you to project your self-serving behavior erroneously onto others.

And I do fully expect it to happen at some point. I'm just disgusted by those who knowingly advocate against their fellow 121 pilots to their own advantage.

Meanwhile, feel free to get your sim instructor application polished up.

The only seat I will be occupying at 64 yrs 11 months is a lay flat business class. This idea that people think everyone wants to work forever is ridiculous.

Default A Satirical Challenge to the Anti 67ers

Make an irrevocable loyalty oath to the company and union. In a sworn, witnessed, by, say, at lease 5 individuals, a notarized statement made before God, Country, your family, family pet, mistress(es) that:

1. You are of sound mind (compos mentis). Gotta have some legalese of sorts.
2. Whereas the mandatory retirement age may be raised beyond the current age 65 before your 65th birthday.
2. You shall retire on the date of the attainment of your 65th birthday regardless of the increase in the mandatory retirement age.
3. You willfully, and freely place your hand on this document before all witnesses.

Make a list of the Anti LEPFers. Assign a special union task force to keep track of those, avowed, violating their attestations.

That should solve the issue of anti LEPFers… right😂

Remember… just a satire folks.

So this is how the 67 folks justify their actions…by assuming that all the younger pilots would be just as selfish as they are.

Fly to 67, no way. I’m going to enjoy the best years of my retirement not spend them working for the man, for money I won’t use.

Only time will tell and if the mandatory retirement age is increased.

After 40 years if watching life go by in the flight levels… I was ready to add my current uniform to the collection of many amassed over the years. Since then did a couple of boring delivery flights of BBJs. Had enough of that. I enjoy that I can pick and choose when I want to commit aviation. In an old PA-18 with removable doors. Never more than 1,500’ AGL and never cooler than 75 degrees nor warmer than 85. Home every night too👍.

I would absolutely sign that. Assuming it happened after I turned 55 (the age of 99% of LEPF/EPAS).
If it happens before, I would probably have to work a little past due to lost wages or retire with less. You see, the LEPFers are asking to take the money from those junior to them.
I don’t want to work past 65. I would absolutely sign that and even be willing not to work 1 trip past 65 out of spite if it happens after my 55th birthday.

Exactly, most of us will die with plenty money in the bank. Those extra 2 years are meaningless.

Cue all the people responding with how they have no money and it’s not their fault. Also they’ll say what I’m saying is hate speech 🙄
