There is a reason why we in the US don't measure winds in meters per second. The US delegation just filed a difference with ICAO and said "appreciate your metric system, and it looks awesome, but George Washington gave us feet and miles, so we're sticking with it."
A long way of saying, I think the Age 1000000 advocates have screwed themselves on not understanding how the FAA/ICAO structure interacts with Congress. I hope they enjoy their second career at Westjet Encore or SkyWest Charters, and I'd ask them to ensure they've put a TOD beneficiary on all their large accounts.

sure they can.. if they change ICAO rules to allow age 67 and then further state that any nation that does not allow the same will not be permitted to operate in the airspace of any nation that has adopted ICAO rules .. it would absolutely force the hand of the US to do the same given that the majority of the countries we fly into have adopted ICAO regulations.

Big news!
• Let Experienced Pilots Fly Act of 2025 dropped today!
• LEPF Leadership on the Hill today
• ICAO Conference countdown
• Next Steps
Our good friend and fearless leader in the House of Representatives, Congressman Troy Nehls released a bill to raise the age to 67. The bill is attached below. Details include:
• Flying in foreign countries or airspace not in compliance with Annexes to the ICAO are addressed
• FARs to be enacted as soon as the bill is enacted
• Retroactivity-meaning pilots over age 65 may return to service
• Protection from liability under employment laws
• Labor agreement guidance
• Medical and training guidance
LEPF President Barry Kendrick and our Vice President Christina Halli are in DC today at the RAA Conference. They will be meeting with staff from Congressman Nehls and Senators Blackburn, Cruz, and Thune to further a bill in the Senate. We are working on Senate bill introduction consistent with our mission.
Congressman Nehls will be attending the ICAO Conference in Montreal next week to support WP349. We will have an LEPF representative on his team.

Next Steps. This is an exciting time for our group! Please stay tuned for calls to action (C2A) including contacting legislators and more fundraising. As always, thank you for your generous support on this important issue. It is your engagement and commitment to raise/eliminate the age that will help us get this done. Here is a link to DONATE. We want to thank everyone who supports this effort!

They paid a lot for luncheons with members of congress.
They have donated so much to LEPF who (falsely) sent information suggesting there would be retroactive employment for pilots under 67 before asking for more money.
If things follow a similar timeline to last time, it will be 5 years before it becomes law. Lots of them are within 2 years of retirement.
I would say it’s abuse of the elderly, but these people swear there is no such thing as cognitive decline.
If cognitive decline were true, scammers would go after the elderly for their money.
I’m not saying LEPF or anyone in congress is scamming anyone, but those on EPAS might sign a deal with the devil for 2 more years. What’s $1,000, your ALPA dues return, or the costs of a weekend with your wife when this guy swears his snake oil works?!
Also, isn’t Nehl’s (the congressman, not the pilot brother) under investigation for misuse of campaign funds? This is the guy that is their champion?
