I disagree. Think of it as a marriage, every difference of opinion does not result in a divorce (OK, using marriage and divorce on an airline pilot forum is probably a bad idea).

I've flown with three pilots getting furloughed in the last month or so, and many on the list of 500 since the letters were first sent out, and every one of them said they didn't want to be used as leverage by the company. They'd rather be furloughed (and make more money) than come back to a lousy contract.
Speaking from the postion as the CAL anchor -- yes, THE bottom man (newly put on the street) -- this could not be more true. Furlough me if that means a better contract. Continue or sacrifice the current contract and I would rather stay furloughed than be abused for pennies in salary.

It's just a piece of bait being dangled. It's short term gain for long term debt. Please keep the scope CAL!!!

I wish everyone had your attitude. Hang in there. We ALL will make this a better place IF we stand together. No more carrots! If the company wants it, we don't.

Concur! Happy to be furloughed if that is what it takes to fix the contract. Don't give in on anything!

It looks like AA and CAL are the only pilot groups with any meaningful scope clauses left. Looks like UAL, NW and Delta caved-in and don't have much left scope wise.

The New DAL scope language just put a cap on the number of "RJ's"

How high is the cap, and how big of an "RJ?"

Seems to me that the new Delta will have something like 110, 70 and 90 seaters alone. Those aren't RJ's. They're narrow body airliners.

there are no delta 90 seaters. the crj900s and E175s both have 76 seats.
