Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

Actually, we're quite "concerned" with flying our best econ speed during our descent. Sorry to hold you up, hopefully we cleared the r/w expeditiously enough for you.

I think Waldo's point is that the Citation X is not the fastest aircraft in the sky and it has certainly held up somebody faster at some point...that would be the perspective he was referring to.

Be careful flying so fast, you might gain weight.

Bragging? I have never heard one person say "we are the best so get it over it." This is just one more attempt by a disgruntled pilot that didn't get hired by swa. Some of us do want to fly domestic the rest of our career and never leave the U.S. again. Some here don't understand that as well.

From my experience jumpseating I'd say there are other airlines out there with much bigger ego's than Southwest. The guys I've met have been friendly and down to earth. Do they get preferential treatment from ATC? Well duhhhh, but that is our managements fault for not coughing up the money for pizza parties and cases of JD.

Sorry to burst your bubble Ace, but you're WRONG................. I've NEVER applied to SWA and have never wanted to work for them either, therefore I am NOT a disgruntled pilot who didn't get called by them.

I guess Herk hasn't seen your previous posts and does not realize how happy you are. Okay, we understand that you have never wanted to work for SWA and I will take the opportunity to thank you personally. Unless you were much happier at an ealier age I seriously doubt you would have been hired anyway. I think many on this forum would disagree that you are not a disgruntled pilot.

Actually I am a pretty upbeat guy. Just because I don't buy the "SWA is the ONLY airline to be at" mentality, it makes me a disgruntled pilot? I'm extremely happy at CAL, and have enjoyed being there. I've also enjoyed the other carriers I've been at. It's interesting how many have lit into the "pay for training" is wrong BS, yet going out and buying a B737 type for the CHANCE of getting an interview with SWA is quit alright. I don't buy into that type of thinking. Many think I despise SWA, and they're wrong. I have a lot of friends working there and I think it's a great airline, just not for me. I'm sure a lot of guys who got on at SWA wouldn't make it at CAL, and vice versa. But hey, everyone can't be at SWA, just like everyone can't be at CAL or DAL. That's the nature of the game. And BTW, you're certainly welcome. I much prefer laying on the beach in SXM on my overnights, than overnighting in OKC.

Hey...living in OKC is like drinking a fine wine, I'm mean like drinking a great import, wait...more like Pabst Blue Ribbon, but we did just get the THUNDER...yea baby I get the best of both worlds...I live in OKC and work at CAL!

Of course, the old, "disgruntled pilot that didn''t get hired," argument.
It always holds water so well.

Serioulsy guys, this is a stupid. Just becuase someone does not work here and makes a statement agaist us, they are disgruntled?

EWR has some valid points. I work here and he is right. I for one am happy that I am here. EWR is happy at CAL. We both made collective decisions on which carrier to pursue and are happy with our decisions. SWA is by no way better than anyone else including some of the others. Most of us, not all, understand that. SWA has some advantages over other carriers, as so do some of the big guys have advantages over us. Our flying is not for everyone and I personally dont expect everyone to fit in to this type of flying. For me, I don't mind it but that's just a personal choice. EWR has the advantage of seeing many more destinations than me, which again, is fine with me and wish him well at CAL.

The whole type thing is another thing. Getting the type rating does nothing but move you up in the pile. Will you get called without it if you wish to pursue a career here? Sure, but having the type will get you the call faster and that is it. Getting the type is nothing more than a personal choice in which some wish to pursue and some don't. Either way, it does not make you a sell out if you do it beforehand. Is it a risk? Absolutly. If you don't see it as a risk, your a moron.

Career aspirations change as you progress in this industry. I, growing up in the northeast always wanted to fly for US Air. That mindset changed over the years at the regional level. Things change as does the industry. We are seeing that now. We are no better than the rest of the carriers. Most of us get that.

The "we are better than thou" mental thinking is only evident on this board by a select few from EVERY carrier. Not just SWA.
