...if you were a Republic pilot what would you have done differently?

I disagree.

Did the Republic EXCO contact the MIdwest MEC about picketing against outsourcing of flying to Republic? NO, they wanted the flying

Did the Republic EXCO stop integration talks with Midwest and Frontier? YES, BB probably concerned about making waves at Frontier

Did the Republic EXCO offer a LOA to stop Midwest furloughs after the purchase? NO, they want all the flying

Republic EXCO hands are dirty and the membership supported his/her actions... "it's our flying now". Republic was going to furlough pilots from the contract flying and purposely LOCKED-OUT the Midwest pilots so Republic pilots can fill all the seats before integration.

How much time would it take to write a LOA to help the 130 Midwest pilots being furloughed since July 2009?

Republic EXCO is in bed with management

Our profession is under attack to lower pay scales and the Republic EXCO in helping management. I mean, did you see that LOA offered to Republic management for FO pay? What a JOKE! Republics EXCO offers a 8 year FO wage of $45.50/hr after Jet Blue won a $90/hr wage for 8 year FO. Do they even have 8 year FOs?

I agree with everything you said above - 100%

The jumpseat ban, I don't know, I guess in my view that's an action that should be used sparingly and only against people who've crossed a picket line, etc? I mean, if we use your analogy Gojet situation was even worst as that airline's sole reason for being formed was to bypass TSA's union. I guess I simply don't know enough about the Republic/Midwest/Frontier subject yet...

PS. Off the subject - hate the iphone's auto spell-check... Darn thing will change whole words before you know it...

So sorry MW pilots. Its like an endless fingernail scratch on a chalkboard. Eagle is the next prey for RAH. I hope I have great noise canceling headsets for the chalkboard scream!

Wow. Apparently your airlines minimum age is 12 to get hired I wish I had been hired there. I'd probably be on at the majors by now.

What MD-80 is trying to convey here is the fact that while the Republic EXCO did absolutely nothing to help the Midwest pilots keep their jobs, the Republic Pilots have done absolutely nothing either. BB pumped money into YX for one reason. That reason was so his parked E-170's would have routes to fly. Those routes belonged to MIDWEST. MIDWEST was not bankrupt. Our contract spells out: ALL FLYING AT MIDWEST WILL BE FLOWN BY PILOTS ON THE MIDWEST SENIORITY LIST. BB takes his airplanes, paints them our colors and throws a little "Connect" sticker on them, convinces an arbitrator it is a "Code Share" and his pilots take over for less than half of what the YX pilots were being paid. When it is all said and done, pilots at other airlines need to ask yourself if these people deserve the common courtesy. They sure didn't give it to the YX pilots. If I am able to move on, I will never let one of them jumpseat on my airplane. They have shown their true colors to me. They are bringing down the industry at an alarming rate. Why placate them.

I see your point... Bedford or whatever his name is sounds more and more like a newer version of Lorenzo and Orrenstein (sp?)

I agree. The really bad part of this is that Bedford seems to have a partner in the Republic EXCO and pilots. They are willing to undermine our profession to increase their flying.

Do not hire Republic Pilots

Make sure you inspect our jumpseat in detail before signing the paperwork for a Republic pilot.

Last I checked this is a two way street. Careful what you wish for

I agree it is not the fault of the pilots, but something makes me queasy at the thought of giving a non-ALPA pilot a lift to work to fly the completely out-sourced work of ALPA pilots.

It may not be their fault, but I don't buy the "just following orders" stuff either. Work for someone evil and you risk the fallout of being associated with them. No rides for RAH pilots on my JS.
