I agree it is not the fault of the pilots, but something makes me queasy at the thought of giving a non-ALPA pilot a lift to work to fly the completely out-sourced work of ALPA pilots.
It may not be their fault, but I don't buy the "just following orders" stuff either. Work for someone evil and you risk the fallout of being associated with them. No rides for RAH pilots on my JS.

Guys most of you get it, but I have run in to a smug one or two, that thinks it is great. Professionals do not do that. Find these guys and tell them that there really is no pleasure in taking another man's job.

Until all pilots start acting in a unified manner, and stop thinking they are part of mangement...not much hope to change anything. "What goes around, comes around."

They're at every airline and they would act that way at any airline. Not defending it or saying it's right...just that no matter where you go, you're likely to encounter a moron. When I came to RAH, they had a huge base right next to my house and did some pretty vanilla flying for 4 airlines without really stepping on anyones toes. 3 years, 4 new partners, 3 acquired airlines, 3 different bases, and 2 new airframes later I'm a monster. Eh...whatever...

Well if you want to gain the support of the Republic pilot group, this would be a great way to do it. I’m sure starting a JS war will convince them. BTW, if you happen to work at an airline that uses this tactic, I sure hope you don't cry when the RP pilots return the favor! You can always tell those pilots that don’t commute, because they're always the first to talk this nonsense.
Why would we want the support of the RAH pilots? The group has shown themselves to be gutless wonders with SJS. You will never say no to taking whatever flying BB gets at another pilot groups expense.

What MD-80 is trying to convey here is the fact that while the Republic EXCO did absolutely nothing to help the Midwest pilots keep their jobs, the Republic Pilots have done absolutely nothing either. BB pumped money into YX for one reason. That reason was so his parked E-170's would have routes to fly. Those routes belonged to MIDWEST. MIDWEST was not bankrupt. Our contract spells out: ALL FLYING AT MIDWEST WILL BE FLOWN BY PILOTS ON THE MIDWEST SENIORITY LIST. BB takes his airplanes, paints them our colors and throws a little "Connect" sticker on them, convinces an arbitrator it is a "Code Share" and his pilots take over for less than half of what the YX pilots were being paid. When it is all said and done, pilots at other airlines need to ask yourself if these people deserve the common courtesy. They sure didn't give it to the YX pilots. If I am able to move on, I will never let one of them jumpseat on my airplane. They have shown their true colors to me. They are bringing down the industry at an alarming rate. Why placate them.

You know what, it is the fault of the pilots. Using the excuse that they were just doing what management told them to doesn't hold water. I left a mainline job because it had degraded into something that in my opinion was intolerable. We all need to take a stand and refuse to fly under these crummy contracts while our CEOs take home tons of cash for being complete failures at their jobs. As for the RAH pilots, the fact that they are willing to take all this flying from other pilots frankly makes me sick.

It's funny how up-in-arms people get when it requires THEM to do absolutely nothing. I am not, nor have I ever, celebrated the moves my management has made. I have never been happy about replacing a crew member from another airline. But I'm not about to apologize for doing my friggin' job to a bunch of hypocrites who gave away this industry years ago.
Edit - And while we're on the subject...where was the outrage when SkyWest replaced SkyWay?
