Not saying that we will...just think there has been more than enough public flogging...to what end? Maybe so we can pound our chests more, we need to learn from it and move on!

With the merger 100% of Nwa SOP's have changed. Everything. Every two months we're changing again. We are on Phase 5 going into the final Phase 6. Nwa has taken 80% of the changes compared to 20% Dal from what I hear. Some things are similiar but it is very possible they were discussing some sort of operational policy.
Also, Airbus guys are now in Bid Period 5 which is completely new. These changes include Pbs, scheduling, etc. Many changes are happening. Let's wait for some facts.

HSLD is attempting to portray himself as a voice of reason unaffected by emotion. His tone is that of a lawyer. He would prefer all discussion of the NWA incident cease until an investigation is complete. This is a defense mechanism.
Turning a blind eye to the facts in the name of an official investigation ignores the obvious. This crew is guilty of negligence. The public knows this. The media knows this. The pilots know this. Even HSLD knows this.

No shame for anyone trying these 2 guys in the court of public opinion?
Absolutely amazing and sad with some of the posts from the past couple of days in regards to this incident.

I saw another interview with the FO. He tried to do the right thing and tell the reporter that he had no comment; though in the end he ended up basically making a statment. If they (he) doesn't want to be judged by public opinion - then don't speak to the media!

HSLD,
I am not attempting to smear these guys. I don't know what happened, only the Capt and FO know. It appears that the FDR won't be of any help. All we will probably ever know is what they tell us. Distraction or asleep? Man, have I made some mistakes. But NORDO for an hour in the US (radar environment)? Flying over the airport by 150 miles? I guess it can happen.
However, if they did fall asleep, I can understand. We have all felt tired, whether it was the end of a week long trip or day one. It happens to all of us, no matter what career field we are in. Doctors, lawyers, pilots, etc. It is simply part of our physiology, nothing about being a pilot means we are immune to being sleepy.
The bottomline is that I am not calling these guys out. We are fallable and could make a huge mistake on any flight. This will be my last post on the matter. Fly safe..
