When I was hired in late 2000 we were hiring 60/month and I got the "Welcome to Delta" you're hired handshake at the interview. My class date was FOUR MONTHS later, AND, 13 months after I was hired I was furloughed. So for those of you that are anxious, Welcome to Delta, and have some patience. I'm sure my contemporaries have similar stories.

Good Luck to all of you.
Anyone remember Louis CK's Crappiest-generation-of-spoiled-idiots clip? "Give it a second!? It's going to space!! Can you give it a second to get back from SPACE???" Not that anyone here is a spoiled idiot - anyway, look up the clip.

We'll engage in the Miracle of Flight soon, have faith. For those wondering though, I know of guys that interviewed on Jul 7 and still haven't gotten the CTT letter, so that's about where I think the queue is.

back to the news from the new hires, did DALPA talk to them yet and if so, when does ACL or someone talk to them about the virtues of posting on Latest and Greatest?
Well I try and drop through and read it but you guys obviously get more time off for posting than I, cause there are 9999999 more new pages every day but I try to keep up.

I guess we'll see...
Well, I'll probably be bidding it on the next AE, so there is at least 1 person below you, if I get it.

I think a lot of us w/late Jul/Aug got the same email today from PR. Essence:
- Taking more time than expected.
- Expect ~4 weeks before the CTT letter will come.
- Trying to keep indoc class dates aligned w/interview dates (earlier interview, earlier class)
- No answers yet for Aug interviewees (I assume by this he means poolies), but "should have an answer in a couple weeks."
- Call w/questions.

Classy, imo, to give us an update instead of leaving us wondering in the dark if something went wrong w/the background check.

That is the thing about DAL. They generally try to do the right thing. It really is a great place to work. I really enjoy the ppl here.

No kidding, but this is the thing that impressed me most during the interview:

We were sitting outside the elevators in our sea of blue wool, white cotton, red silk, and black leather (sounds like a NC-17 movie), the 737 chief check pilot dropped by to shake our hands. Then a couple minutes later, he passed us again with a handful of cokes on his way to hand them out to the gate guards.

People that take care of the workers impress me, and I'm looking forward to joining the team.
