I'm not throwing stones, I just am asking.

I believe they do get access to Deltanet prior to showing up to class. You're supposed to use it to enroll in benifits and do some other things a few weeks before your official start date. As for understanding how it works and putting in a bid, there is a fair amount of info on Dlnet about how the process works. You don't learn much in class about it anymore, so they'll have the same info that their "classmates" do.

This was the rumored drop for the class:

MSP DC9 2
MEM DC9 3
DTW DC9 3
NYC M88 11
MSP M88 18
ATL M88 2
MSP 320 8
DTW 320 1

My understanding is that the flow guys went ahead and put in a preference for what the wanted, despite the fact that they won't be on property for a few months.

O really thought if there would be openings post SOC it'd been in DTW more than MSP. DTW must really be a commuter friendly base. I mean its got the best terminal in the system and all, and good trips. You know, if I was a 2007 or earlier hire at Delta, I'd bid DTW right away.

Or MSP. MEM. NYC, SLC, LAX, CVG... any of those.

Or maybe 7ER, 330, 320, 764, 737, DC9, 777, 747, 89 anywhere but ATL, any of those too. If you're hired in 2007 or before, those are great planes to be on.

If you're a March 2008 or earlier pre-merger Delta hire, then you can hold a line on DTW320B due to our super fair SLI.

You mean if you're a july 07 PDAL hire or 2001 PNWA you can hold a line on DTW320B...

back to the news from the new hires, did DALPA talk to them yet and if so, when does ACL or someone talk to them about the virtues of posting on Latest and Greatest?

Good Luck to all the new hires,

Do want to put some things in perspective.

When I was hired in late 2000 we were hiring 60/month and I got the "Welcome to Delta" you're hired handshake at the interview. My class date was FOUR MONTHS later, AND, 13 months after I was hired I was furloughed. So for those of you that are anxious, Welcome to Delta, and have some patience. I'm sure my contemporaries have similar stories.

Good Luck to all of you.

I'm not throwing stones, I just am asking.

I beleive that is one of the deals with CPS and Mesaba being able to hold them back. FWIW, all DCI employees have access to DALnet because of Travelnet, and yes, DAL is aware of this, and yes, they can access most of the Flying Operations page, so I think they can see if there is an AE.

I know one or two of those pilots and they are the ones that told me that they will be able to bid on the next AE even though they are held back. It was not their choice and they are by definition an active DAL pilot as of Aug 16th, with a seniority number and everything.
