Hi. I actually have a little bit of a different opinion about the test than ACL. I had read a lot of places that the test had changed, yet when I took it in July it had a lot of questions that were on the gouge from 2008. What I did is inserted the Qs I found from the gouges into the study guide they provided and then made sure to include them in my studies and find all of the answers. I don't think the test has changed from 2008, just that they added more questions to the bank. I guess it is now a 650 question bank, but I got several that I read from the old gouges.

Glad to hear it, because that was not the experience my buds had. One said the gouge was good, and the rest said they simply guessed on half of them.

So, I am glad you can counter that.

Makes ACL feel so much betta.

Ok you contract wizards, here is your next question.

Lets say a new hire is awarded DTW 320. What is the process for that pilot to switch to MSP 320? (Or any other airbus base)

Thanks in advance

Pretty simple really. The new hire waits for the next AE and puts the other base(s) on his preferences. Since you're just changing bases, there is no seat lock. If you want to change aircraft or your more interested in one base over another. Put in bids for all of the equipment in that base. There will be a seat lock if you change aircraft.

BTW welcome aboard!

Hey for all you commuters out there, how much does a crash pad normally run to join in?

Depends on your base and what you want. For instance, in MSP you can probably find your own room or bed in a nice house or condo for $180-$250. Maybe less for a place with hot bunks. Hot bunks are where you just grab any open bed. In DTW you can get the same for $150-$200, and NYC will probably be $200-250. Most of these places provide just about everything you need. Fully furnished kitchens, living rooms, washer/dryer, satellite tv, gaming systems, and either a car available for use or a location very close to public transportation. Those are your top running newhire bases. Often advertisements for available crahpads are posted in the respective bases crew room. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks Johnso that helps! The only ones you missed were Mem and ATL, but I bet they run the same. Awesome

ATL seems to be on par with NYC. Most of the ones I have run across in the crew rooms vary from 180-280.

The training center in ATL also has a bulletin board with crash pad info on it. Most seem to go for a pad on/off Virginia Ave close to the hotels offering transpo to the center.
