Not sure what the policy is, but when I went back to update my AirlineApps data just before my interview, the app had been updated to ask if you had ever interviewed w/NW before (previously, it only asked about DAL).

But what can it hurt to apply? No app fee. No stamp. Just some time filling in computer squares.

Throw in a couple of DC-9s that were flown by Eastern, and I think we got it covered.

Don't forget Pacific Northern (merged with Western) and West Coast Airlines and Pacific Air Lines

red,

I'm pretty sure the -9 is fairly low on the totem pole for altitude deviations, or at least we are not at the top. Is that right? Who's #1?

When I first completed the application there was no question(s) regarding the NWA interview. When I went back a few weeks later it was there, so there must be some weight to how you answer the question. Perhaps you might still be considered but only after they have looked at other applications. My NWA interview was over 13 years ago. Most airlines allow you to reapply after 1 year if turned down.

Another question. I have three internal recommendations along with 10 outside recommendations. The three that I have from DAL did not use their DAL email ID but used their personal ID's instead. Does that make a difference when they screen application?

Also, for those who interviewed and hired, did you prep with Judy Tarver (fltops) or Kit Darby? Did any of you skip the prep?

A while back I read it was the 320. That was just NWA planes though, not sure since the merger. The -9 has very few altitude busts because you have to pay attention.... The 320, not so much....

Yes, When a DAL e-mail addy is used, it tags that LOR immediately as an internal one. There is no work for anyone to do to verify if said person is internal or not. The e-mail addy takes care of that.

Not using it means that "if" your app get picked out of the stack they will look at the LOR and see the internals. The difference is possibly what stack it initially gets sorted in and the amount of time for eyeballs to look at it.

I always tell pilots that if you really want to do your applicant buddy a disservice, be lazy and do not activate your DAL e-mail addy. It takes two min and may be the difference between a call an not.

Just nudge them a little bit. DAL is not telling guys to use their internal addy for giggles.

I had forgotten to use my Delta email on two of the people that I recommended. One of the guys pointed it out that he heard it was very important to use the Delta email. Well, I changed both of them immediately. Three days later, they both get letters for invites.

Exactly. It is easy. Just copy the original LOR to a word document and send it back to them with a new request. Ask them to use their DAL.com addy. If they do not know how to set it up, tell them there are instructions on the pilot recruiting page that can be accessed from the main Flt Operations page on DAL.net.

yep 320 used to be at the top..now the least altitude busts. Many reasons to include awareness of the climb/descent mode you are in, and an improved FMS. I'll wager however as we get new hires into the 320 our rate will inch upwards again.
