Did you think I am asking for their phone numbers?
It varies per class and bid so i dont know if theres anywhere to see who will go where until the classes actually start.

Check your PMs. I Don't think there will be anymore MSP 320 this year.

Default Hiring requirements at DAL

Does anyone have any idea as to how the selection for DAL (interviews only) is taking place. I am trying to figure out what kind of system they are using to filter the thousands of applications they have on file. It seems that while internal rec are suggested, some are getting calls without them. Also the TT, age, experience, education factors put into place as well.

They have stopped interviews until further notice.

Beyond that, I'd say as a civilian if you have an internal LOR, >4000 TT, >500 TPIC, with a bachelor degree you should be competitive (my opinion only).

I dunno....I'm 29 have 2 degrees, a internal LOR, >6500 TT, >3000 TPIC and not a peep. Initially applied in Feb 2008. No accidents/incidents, nothing on my driving record, No DUI's...etc, my record is as clean as it gets.

Who knows what they're looking for?

IMO, you are competitive, however you have to remember that there were only 200 or so hired off the street this time and apparently 10,000+ qualified apps. No matter who gets called, there will always be hundreds with more time who didn't. Hopefully the economy keeps its wits about it and wall street likes what happens next month. If they do, then the hiring flood gates just might get cracked open next year. Good luck.

Just because you didn't get called doesn't mean you aren't competitive. I would just keep updating every month or so (I've been told they look at the frequency of updates when deciding who to invite).

With that resume, its all about networking to get noticed.

I'm sure internal letters help for those that have them. I like you had no internal letters and got the e-mail about 6 weeks after applying.

For those wanting to know what they look for I can't tell you for sure. I have a few friends with internal recs as well who did not receive the e-mail. I know they look at your highschool and college grades and like to see them flow from one to the next. They like that I had a lot of teaching experience that was not just flying. I know they look for 1000 turbine PIC. They like motivation although I'm not sure how they look for that in an application.

I got lucky for the interview, studied hard and am looking forward to joining the Delta ranks.
