I'd appreciate input to easiest new hire bases to commute to.
Of the choices you'll probably have, ATL then MSP is your best bet from Tucson. One a day mainline direct to MSP. You can't beat booking the jumpseat and having that for sure...

Use a minimum of 15G. I used 15 and wish I did 20, but everything works just fine. You will also be able to download and run PBS Desktop (bidding program.) Now you can work on bid when not online. Very handy of you commute.

Bad news - You can bid anything you want once on board. Heck - why stop @ the 777....Bid the 747-400. As previously stated...you'll get the bid once the other 12,000+ guys & gals don't bid it. Just kidding. Enjoy your stoke and lets hope the hiring continues!

Baja.
Thanks G2B. That saved me quite a bit of time and frustration, not to mention money as I was just going to drop it off at the Apple store.
Very glad to be entering the pattern on the MD-88. The energy and excitement thus far has been great. Bring on the spouses! See you on the line.

When you mean low ssn, do you mean like 0020 or 9920? Because 9920 will be at the top of the class senority list and 0020 at the bottom.
My SSN is 0XXX so I expect to be at the bottom. I'm closest to VPS but PNS and ECP are both about an hour away. It sounds like catching a ride on RJ's is difficult. Is that because they're usually full? What is the best way to see routes/flights per day out of a particular airport?

Can anyone tell me what 4 airports cover LAX? Also, your experiences with this base?

Try www.skyguide.com or .net. Can't remember which. I think American Express runs the site, but it's free to check out the best way between city pairs.

I believe it's LAX, ONT, SNA, BUR, & LGB. It's a small senior base that's most likely unattainable to a newhire. But you never know.

Just remember about RJ's, they get weight restricted. If it's a short flight with an alternate, doubtful you can sit in the jumpseat.
