Thanks for the clarification PG.

Now it's time to show this to my wife.

Ya know, I knew you would be coming around and putting out the accountant version!

I was trying to give a grade school answer, but you are correct. I bet this now makes more sense to everyone.

That said, as I have stated, anything over 50K in a policy paid for by the (a) company will have "a" charged to you. Nothing different than if you were getting the same policy from another employer somewhere else.

I would definitely trust PG on this stuff.

Do many at DL have memberships at the Sky Club (no, not mile high)?

Check out some personal term insurance - any web based insurance site will give you some idea of how much term is. It's not very expensive and as long as you're healthy it will be cheaper than Delta's group term or ALPA's group term. The advantage to Delta/ALPA is you don't have to qualify (no physical for their group insurance).

That's true for the base life insurance - you can buy additional insurance for youself and your dependents WITHOUT qualifying. Can be very useful if you don't want to go through the hassle of fully underwritten term insurance.

You can buy access to the Sky Club like every other employee. That or qualify on miles you earn buying "Fly Confirmed for Less" tickets.

Many guys like Abbott, but I have M&H and it is holding up great. Remember you're only required to wear you blazer about 4-5 months out of the year so they hold up pretty good.

Thanks-I understand that you have to pay for it, however, I am just curious as to whether many find utility in a membership. Thanks.

Actually, you can. You get an opportunity at every open enrollment in the fall. As an FYI, last year less than 1% did opt out (or down).
