I think it was PG who asked for examples of people in ALPA leadership taking a management job. I'm quite sure PG is senior to me, but he may not have remembered the situation I mentioned in my earlier post, or he simply may not have been aware of it.

I personally haven't had dealings with WS and am not seeking revenge of any kind. JM was the SLC LEC Chairman as well as the SLC Chief Pilot while I have been based in SLC. I'm not seeking any "revenge" there either. Now that I think about it, there was another SLC ALPA representative who became a Chief Pilot. His initials are JS.

Here's another one, and you may consider it "ancient history", but it is true:

Former Senior Vice President of Flight Operations Dave Greenberg was an ALPA negotiator prior to moving to management. He's been gone for a while as well, but it happened.
Okay, I had to Google him. The internet says he worked for Delta for 28 years in management. Am I to believe that ALPA trained a guy so well that Delta kept him on their side of a table for almost 30 years? Either our negotiators are really really good or this guy really wanted to be a manager and not a pilot. Looks like he's at KAL now.

I don't really care whether he chose a different path later in life. Did he do good as an ALPA rep? Conversely, did he rape us as a company goon? Lastly does this matter today in the world where we have oversight and no one in recent times has "crossed over to the dark side" ?

A. It will be a lot less than that, and likely a lot closer to ZERO than that.
B. Since scambo threw out that number, I thought he'd be willing to back it up with some dinero. Apparently, not.
C. Personal opinion - the TWA guys were on a seriously sinking ship, and threw away all protections to get whatever they could get. Then, after they got it, started complaining as pilots are so prone to do. Reference USAir - East.

Our original bet was based on your comment that ALPA would "throw the AirTran guys under the bus" presumably to court favor with SWAPA. I'm glad to pay the $100 if there is ANY evidence of that -- but so far, you've yet to provide a shred.

As for this one, you allege that the judgment against ALPA could be $1.2B, again without a shred of evidence. I'm willing to discount it 90%.

So, either put up or clam up.

I know, I know, but I couldnt let the other one slide either. The cheap shot was followed by a smilie tho. All in good clean fun til someone breaks a hip.

Speaking of money it looks the the average DPA supporter really jumped in their to help their cause. The average DPA member level contribution jumped way up in the last month. From 11 dollars per DPA member to 12 bucks!!! DPA concerns me only because the company will view it as weakness in pilot unity and a chance to reduce the cost of contract 2012.
If DPA supports honestly viewed DPA as critical to their futures I would expect contributions with a couple of more zero's from most supporters. 12 bucks? Give me a break!

And how much does the average ALPA member pay in contributions above mandatory dues?

Look at the list that is annually published of ALPA-PAC supporters. Look at the pilots that donate to the Flower Fund, the Charitable Donations that ALPA gives, etc. Those total more than DPA has gotten since its inception and then some. The Charitable Fund alone donated over 100K grand in one instance last year.
