Inquiring minds are wondering

The guy that works where? Do the background check people call all Phase 2'ers or only those that they need additional info from? My phone/email has been very quiet lately....but I figure it's just due to holidays. Of course a nice B6 job offer would be a great gift to unwrap this year!
Congrats to all the new Phase 2 folks. Hope the study guide was of some use to you. Happy holidays everyone!

Funny - I spent hours memorizing your 4 page guide - recited half of page 1 and the guy cut me off and pressed on to the next? Probably the same guy you had. I'm guessing it helped, thanks for sharing.

Time to Captain
Not to get ahead of myself... but, anyone know average time to Captain.
Heard a guy say new SWA hires may never see the left seat.

Aircraft Deliveries:
40 A320 NEO
30 A321s
22 A320s
38 E190s (plus 78 options)
Current Fleet:
A320: 118
E190: 46
Most junior A320 captain hired: Jan 2006 (BOS and JFK)
Most junior EMB190 captain hired: Apr 2007 (BOS)

Based soley on aircraft deliveries, yes you will never see the left seat at jetblue. The E190 options will probably not be executed. The company has stated they are capping the E190 fleet at 75 airframes. As we get new Airbuses we will no doubt park some of the older ones as well, so it wont be pure growth either.
That being said, I cant think of an airline that has an aircraft order book that will double their fleet size without parking any existing a/c.
Is jetblue a decent place to work? Sure. It certainly isnt perfect, but we are trying to keep things headed in the right direction.

I'd say flyby summed it up pretty well...

It's more than 11. There are 11 new planes coming on to property, plus an additional 7-8 that are returning from service ( old 320's) that the leaser could not find an operator for. The leasing company is giving these planes back for an extremely cheap price, just to get some cash flow flowing for them.
Are you sure you are not confusing this with the airbus returns from '10-'11? the 'N***JT/JL' birds??

Just heard the check airmen were told we are only hiring 70 in 2012 now. Hope its wrong but thats the news.
I didn't hear this straight from a check airmen but a reliable source who relayed the info.
Sounds to me like they were counting on AA and Delta hiring and calling back the furloughs. Doesn't look like thats happening now.
