Is there no penalty for canceling the orders of the C-Series?

Depends on the contract, which I doubt any of us have seen.

Ture, seems like there has to be something in there protecting the manufacturer from going ahead with the manufacture of a new aircraft and having the buyer back out.

You'd have to know what the details are in the deal with Bombardier. I imagine that the fact the Bombardier had almost ZERO leverage at the time since NO ONE seemed interested in the C-Series, combined with Republic's premeditated "devious" plan to play them against Airbus, would ensure that BB didn't sign up for anything too painful. Do you think he was that dumb? It is probably a minor issue in his world and a cost of doing business. Wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened in the industry.

BTW...already seems to have ruffled a feather or 2 with Bombardier and their shareholders.

And they obviously were a bit concerned a few months ago:

Since 40 of the NEO's are of the A319 variety, that blows a big hole is Mr. Scott's argument.

C-Series at Republic is DONE!

Bombardier confident Republic will stick with CSeries order

Agreed. The C-Series promised some major operating savings. But, until that is proven. I think you will see BB stick to what he knows. Airbus' and EMB's

Serious question only. Not bashing.

The F9 pilots have been "played" since day one. "Dumb", doesn't even begin to describe this spineless, pathetic pilot group. They need to change their name from Frontier to French and get rid of the animals on the tail of their aircraft and replace them with a white surrender flag. It's fun watching them in their death spiral though.

In the Q & A, the CSeries are still arriving in 2015. The Airbus NEOs begin to arrive 2016. According to BB, both will be operated. The NEOs are a replacement for existing Airbus.
