MFA can get a waiver for anything, but MDW, BWI and LUV and maybe some FL routes will be plenty for SWA with their new slots until they can get a real NYC presence one day.

We could acquire them, get those slots back on the cheap, recapture the scope for that seat class. Staple the pilots( just as in the current flow agreement with them) but giving thier Captains a 5 year fence...... no need for us to be like SWA, give the pilots there some senoirity protections on thier own equipment and some basic dignity!

I hope they bring their piggy bank, because I'm sure AirTran will put up a strong number.

P.S.I have no idea of the legality of the above statement, mostly I just like to raise T's blood pressure. It's hillarious to watch him rant.

Just caught word that frontier and virgin america got slots into dca because of this swap. Unfortunately, i have no publishable source. Sorry, we will have to wait and see.

That would be interesting, especially for VX to get slots. The DCA perimeter rule would prohibit DCA-SFO routes. Frontier could do something like DCA-MCI/MKE/OMA, but DEN would be too far as well.

Of course with enough ca$h you can buy exemptions and do something longer distance

That would be kinda hard since they haven't even run the auction yet, as I understand it.

Uh, Frontier already does DEN flights out of DCA... used them for my commute.

Not on Saturdays only. ATA used to fly 757s from LGA to SFO on Saturday only before they went BK, and Delta did LAX and LAS from LGA nonstop on Saturdays after that. I nonrevved on a LGA to LAX nonstop about 7 years ago on Delta, and the 757 was about half full, which surprised me.
