I guess that will be a novel position to take in court if we are unfortunate enough to go that route. I can see the narrative:
"Your honor, we'd rather go BK than take the reasonable path. We believe we deserve much more and we know you will see things our way".
I'm sure that's the way it played out at Delta, CO, UA, US, TWA, Pan Am, Branniff, Eastern. I know I've missed a couple of other airlines that have been down that path. Can someone here show factually at which of those carriers, the labor groups came out ahead with a better compensation package than they entered BK with? Name just one!

It's clear I'm certainly not going to see your position of thinking these initial proposals (which are already dead) were any good, so arguing over the carcass of these proposals seems pointless. My observations are that few if any consider these worthwhile options either. So, now what ?
All we can do is wait and see if anything that has a chance of passing membership vote comes forward from the exhalted pupsters. Then process then restarts (maybe) and off we go. If the next proposals STILL allow for massive outsourcing with minimal continued investment in the AA brand and those who've made it what it is..........well tried to, despite all the obstacles thrown in their way by management, then we can wrestle some more.
You've beaten this like a rented mule and its long since flopped over and is now stinking up the joint.

Actually DL took paycuts prior to entering BK. Then once in BK, the judge refused to look at the prior compensation before the concessions given. Then forced additional concessions on top of what was done to "save the company."
That doesn't give a whole lot of motivation to help the company if they are just going BK anyways. I'd be willing to bet that even if the pilots took 80% paycuts, AA would still be losing money. It's just not worth it when a company is that poorly run.

That's the primary goal of this media storm by the company using people paid to do just that to try and sway the pilots to demand SOMETHING to vote on. They just need it to be a TA to do what they need to, then I don't even think they'll waste time with the F/A's and Mechanics. They need scope GUTTED with code-sharing at will and elimination of any senioirty merger obstacles. The ONLY thing that should get past the BOD as a TA is something that has iron-clad job security as a start......and that's even before the other aspects are considered.
Otherwise, BK is going to be BK and it's then best to have as much leverage as possible and minimize the blank checks.

My assertion is that he is not an AA LINE pilot. Even the pilots I've met on the line who are more bankruptcy averse don't defend this management or airline management in general. Anyone who's made this aggressive an effort in such a short period of time having come to this site at such a time has to either be in management or working directly on their behalf, IMO.
