Just for clarification, which airlines, specifically, are you using in this comparison?

Hourly rate doesnt mean jack without workrules and a contract to back it up.

The average Delta pilot earns only $2300 a year more than the average B6 pilot. JetBlue has no widebody rates bringing up the average, and they have E-190 pay scales in their average. I would say B6 pilots do quite well in comparison. Yes, our 10% company match (5% 401k, 5% Guar Profit Sharing) needs to improve, but our work rules are pretty good and our vacation is very good. And, yes we do have a contract to back it up, just not a CBA. Owe, throw 2-3% raise on there because no union dues. So I guess the average is better than Delta.

Oh, that's right, the MIT data that is based on US DOT Form 41 via BTS, Schedule P6 & P10 is biased and unfactual right? That is the argument that is always brought up by certain folks when presenting these facts. It was a Delta guy that "questioned" the source, just posting the facts. Unless of course you don't trust DOT data.

I just have a hard time believing the average SWA pilot earned only $166K a year.
