You are entitled to your opinion but I believe your characterization of those reps to be misguided. I believe they voted no because this is NOT the contract Delta pilots should be presented right now.

I for one am glad to have the NWA guys who obviously have more backbone than others in the group.

I hope someone is gathering the names of those who voted to send this POS to the membership.

So a few days ago I posted that any T/A containing additional 76 seaters would constitute ALPA intervention on management's behalf to save the two-tier outsourcing system from destruction. 14 reps just voted for that.

This seems pretty out of character from the Sinkr8 that usually posts well thought out and reasoned logic. Must have done a red eye.

Just remember, we already know from some of the bullet points, the core work rules (ie more hours/need for less pilots, decreased ability to drop/swap, decreased ability to earn premium pay and other "productivity" rules in management's favor) were being targeted.

If those turn out being true, adding in crappy pay rates only bolsters the case to: 1. Vote this down. 2. Bring in a group who will do a better job, top to bottom...bottom to top of representing this pilot group.

A lot of damage has already been done on this potential contract. There is no one to blame for that other than DALPA who put it together and apparently started too low during our "big leverage with huge opportunities available RIGHT NOW!" moment. Might be a good time to cut our losses and bring in someone else. I for one don't want to work more hours, be away from home more often and decrease my QOL and flexibility for a peanut shell pay raise.

No, and my meds are balanced, KingBird.

It's not a NvS post, it's a lingering "GvS" politics post, as was described to me by several of you. Now, before I get reminded that I wasn't there, I'll stipulate to the fact that I have no expertise in pre-merger politics.

But post-merger politics have been pretty consistent. It's my observation that some guys will always make it a career to be against anything that's not 100% popular. Obviously, these guys counted votes, and obviously, they know they were not going to scuttle it, and I think they like it exactly that way. I remain unimpressed by their politics. In fact, I think the MEC should call their bluff, and rally behind these five, turn a T/A down. Let them lead a while.

Nothing to do with the pilot group in general, or either pre-merger group.

If it is truely the 4/8/3/3 pay raises and more 76 seat RJs I think we should cheer the NO votes no matter if they were North or South.

I am trying to remain open minded but right now this deal seems pathetic.

It's interesting that the majority of the posts about the TA have been "I will vote NO if we don't get 30-40% pay raise, scope deterioration, etc" Maybe that's just what these 5 did!

To accuse AA, TT or SS of playing politics is absolutely absurd on it's face, and exposes the fact that you don't know jack abou the fNWA pilot group or their reps.

Honestly offended.

Yawn. Quit regurgitating your disdain for anything pre merger NWA and focus on the here and now.

It appears we are about to be presented a POS contract proposal based upon what SF has already said. Quit with the political hand wringing, squabbling and finger pointing. We are way beyond that now. Keep your eye on the ball man!

Two separate discussions. One is about the T/A, and the other is a small tangent about politics. Guys are finding it significant that 5 voted against. I'm meerly pointed out that these 5 seem to vote that way in most matters, and I'm unimpressed.

My reps voted for it. Are they bad people? I don't think so. Do I need to follow their lead? I don't think so either.

People will try to link the two discussions, and use 5 dissenters as ammo. I think it's stupid to use 14 "for" votes as ammo, so I'm not going to give credit to either side. The real discussion that's about to unfold isn't about whether the T/A should be passed on to us, but about how we will individually and collectively act on it.
