Odds of Delta TA passing
#61
At the very least, I wish we could agree to stop using the term "hard cap." If we vote YES to this TA, we are changing our 255 jet "hard cap" to a ~325 jet "hard cap". Isn't it obvious that this new "hard cap", isn't?

Initially I thought the 4/8.5/3/3 was a ridiculous amount for a 4 year contract. Then, I found out it was for 3, and in reality that pay would come to us within 2 1/2 years (Jan 1st, 2015). That's not bad at all. Then I looked at all of the sections, and saw improvement in almost all of them. The extra 76 seat RJs are not desirable, but raising our flying with the new planes coming in and permanently parking 148 50 seaters, while keeping a ratio of mainline vs DCI flying, makes it better. Throw in joint venture and codesshare protection, and the TA seems doable. Not great, but not bad enough to dismiss.

“One of the keys to Delta’s success in recent years has been our collective ability to work harder and smarter for our customers and for Delta’s long-term success,” Richard said. “Our pilots will contribute additional productivity enhancements to help us continue to manage our costs effectively. These productivity enhancements combined with the ability to restructure our domestic network, and retire inefficient 50-seat aircraft, add 717s and 76 seaters, provide significant value to Delta to cover the costs of our employee investments.”

Why didn't these productivity enhancements equate to better pay raises for the pilot group, instead of mediocre pay raises for all the groups. I'm tired of playing the socialist game.
