I'm Voting for the TA

I think it's just plain dumb to turn down the offer to have a share in the wealth of the company based on a principle that has failed every other pilot group before us. What makes us so different? I want to learn from the mistakes of others and not KNOWINGLY leave money on the table like we did during the JCBA negotiations. That's just plain insane. That's LONG TERM money that we will never get back. if those 717s that we didn't want go to DCI (and they will), that's LONG TERM flying, hiring, money that we will never get back. You will see that we have real job security built into this TA if you read it or call your Reps to get the explanation.

btw, per section 1 we are not competing with DCI over what pilot group gets to fly the 717. They will not be going to DCI unless we give them a RAH like exemption and even then not with DAL customers. Unless that's a part of our 2015 scope concessions.
If you had said Alaska then that'd be closer to reality as we are competing with that piloy group over who gets to fly Delta customers on 739s, 738s and the like.

So then, if that is a what you base your analysis and decision on, why would you be ok with reducing profit sharing? In your view, why not for go hourly pay and negotiate straight profit sharing only?

What you have stated is completely false.
Your motivation for support is grossly obvious though.

Can you elaborate further on this? "it's just plain dumb to turn down the offer to have a share in the wealth of the company based on a principle that has failed every other pilot group before us."

You are correct concerning sec 1 however, THIS TA will not exist if we turn it down. Plan B for the company goes into effect. As the original JCBA fell off of the table when I was not ratified. That opens the door for he DCI plan. The company has a different intent for Alaska which will be made known after this TA is settled because it is contingent upon the outcome of whatever agreement is reached.

That's precisely what I intend to do. I don't like to be threatened, by the company or anyone else for that matter.

Well, we don't have a contract now. It's just a tentative agreement. The company is not bound to anything but the current contract which has no language whatsoever concerning the 717s, new pay rates, new duty rigs, etc... If not ratified, our current contract will be the starting point and the company will continue marching along and whatever happens in between now and the time we reach another agreement is what we will have to accept and deal with.
