Delta already bought 1000 hrs 717 sim time

Hi Jack,
That's the only way they can vote. It's the only way they get any kind of money now. Even a six month delay has financial consequences, which is why they are so wild eyed.
Even a %20 raise a year from now does very little good to a person in their last 3 years, and this is the specific demographic for which this TA is tailored.
Note the long delay in any kind of DC bump. %14 vs %15 to these guys means very little. There is no practical way for it help.
OTOH, a reduction in staffing does help. The increase in ALV will let them fly more. These guys typically will pump the white slips (which are relatively a sure thing, rather than wait by the phone for a GS), so the reserve ALV+15 will not affect their method of schedule filling.
Scope issues are the last thing on their minds. As is sick time...(although, they are getting more).
If I was in my last 3 years, and money is all that was on my mind, and I had no interest in leaving a place better than I found it, this is exactly the kind of TA I'd want, and the sooner, the better.

Well Said, Now the natural conclusion is that ALPA and the NC is complicit in ignoring the unity of the pilot group for the sake of the few. Dont forget that they are bargaining in bad faith, since they also represent many of the DCI pilots who would take mainline jobs. ALPA no longer represents pilot interests only its own interests. Vote no and demand that scope be tightened and that ALPA make a decision to represent either mainline or regional, not both.

Well I believe it's being advertised as a net of 40 aircraft. But DCI gets 70 brand new, fuel efficient(more so then the 717), lower CASM aircraft. I know the 50 seaters retirements accelerate by about 5 years, but I'm not sure that is worth what's being asked for.

It is funny how it is always ok to spend 20 million or so each on DCI airframes but they always want to keep mainline airframes down to several million each....always used stuff for us.

That's nice, isn't it? They get brand new airplanes, and we get the used car lot left overs. Guess we won't know what to do when those brand new 737-900ERs show up. We might need somebody to scuff em up for us. Maybe crush some peanuts on the floor, and smear some chocolate on the seats?

ASA is running a surplus of pilots and SkyWest Inc has just secured financing for 2 billion dollars in new aircraft funding. But here at Delta... Used 717's

The ASA/Expressjet are the ones who will end up with the 717. That's why the 2B credit and that's why Delta pilots will vote this TA in.

We are truly the left overs, getting equipment that is already well past it's "sell by" date. The numbers tell the story. In a downturn the 747's and Douglas fleet would be the first airplanes parked.
Cheap to acquire = cheap to park.

Uh, you're kidding, right? I'm pretty critical of this TA allowing more 76 seaters but absolutely nobody is suggesting it will allow 717s to be outsourced.

You are leaving out Brand flying. Management always have loop holes. Management is thinking outside the box lately. I still think they will buy the pilot group, and make them all delta pilots.
