Have you seen the payrates for 12 year captain by 2015? $195 an hour for the 717, the smallest plane at Delta by then. Everything bigger will pay more. Those senior 767 FOs could make $60 more per hour as an MD88 captain and more for the 320 and 737. I think that may persuade senior FOs to finally make the jump. Today, it's just not worth as much. 15% DC along with the huge raise due to seat change can make a big difference down the line for retirement.

Quite the opposite. In fact it is you and Finnis that are willing to sacrifice what we all want in the future for some meager short term gains. I feel for you guys losing your pension. I really do. But everybody here needs to understand why you are pushing things the way you are.
You guys are more insulated from the negative aspects of this contract proposal and just want to put a few more bucks in your pocket before you punch out. I don't entirely blame you but somebody needs to be a voice of reason for the guys on the bottom/ middle of the list and not buy every bit of hooiey being sold by guys like you for your own self interested reasons.

Normally you are on my ignore list, but I'll answer this one with an unequivocal BS. You have an agenda to torpedo the Delta pilots with your donut holes. You probably haven't even read past the first page of the TA, but that is OK, because your comprehension skills are sorely lacking. And I'll bet your talking points come straight from caplinger himjself... So carry your hat in your hand young one, and enjoy your stagnation... Vote NO, for no good reason, but be sure hire a good financial planner because with your inane "logic" you will be broke before you are 2 years out of retirement.
1. Keeping membership in the dark.
2. Not following the survey the membership took the time to fill out.
3. Ramrodding an inferior (and leaky) contract proposal that has very real negative long term repercussions for the majority of Delta pilots.
I would be more than happy to look past DALPA's earlier missteps and even the current shenanigans if someone, anyone at DALPA central would show some true bottom up leadership, long term strategy and REPRESENT/Obtain what the pilots have asked for.
If we end up with a contract that reflects this (not ths current proposal) while not giving away large RJ's or work rules (that will have huge long term negative impact on this pilot group) I would instantly walk away from anything DPA and never mention them again. It is that simple. Any desire to have DPA on the property has EVERYTHING to do with putting some leadership in place that listens and executes the desires of Delta pilots while lifting the industry. The reason we are being ridiculed by other pilot groups and guys at the regional's who want to fly for Delta.....they realize how damaging the proposal on the table is to Delta pilots advancement (and therefore more hiring), quality of life and restoring the profession to a job worth having.
Your assertions are completely ridiculous and without merit. Most people who read what you write are fully aware of your misleading and self serving way of thinking. I am confident in letting those who post here judge for themselves who really has a personal agenda at odds and to the detriment of this pilot group. Good Day sir!

I think the thread drift has reached the critical stage. The original premise of this thread has been proven wrong so let's move on.

It's an absolute 100% fact that delta has an agreement with Alteon/Boeing for sim time at the Atlanta training center......if its required. The rest of the original post is just speculation.
