Quite the opposite. In fact it is you and Finnis that are willing to sacrifice what we all want in the future for some meager short term gains. I feel for you guys losing your pension. I really do. But everybody here needs to understand why you are pushing things the way you are.
You guys are more insulated from the negative aspects of this contract proposal and just want to put a few more bucks in your pocket before you punch out. I don't entirely blame you but somebody needs to be a voice of reason for the guys on the bottom/ middle of the list and not buy every bit of hooiey being sold by guys like you for your own self interested reasons.

Jack ignores reality. This contract offers virtually nothing to senior pilots unless you are taking the early out. The negotiators even admit its biased to the bottom of the list and the MEC members agree. The contract if it passes will pass on the votes of the junior pilots and they will vote for it with a higher percentage then the senior guys.

The SR guys want to protect and or rebuild their retirements because they lost them and do not have as much time remaining.
The JR guys want an upgrade so they can build their retirement/ make more money.
I understand both, especially the SR part because I have witnessed first hand the stresses that losing their retirement fund translates to. No body should sell anyone out but all I read on here is me me me in the form of the JR guys complaining that the SR guys will vote this in and screw them. Jack you are trying to convert everyone for your OWN self interested reasons. O and as Sailing said this is a JR pilots TA, the SR person I referred to is voting NO because it does nothing for them.

It is apparent that a 777A voting yes on this is doing it for other than total self interest...The thing I can't get my head around is what they see in it that is a positive defensible yes vote...assuming their yes is altruistic.
I try to remove "agenda" from the debate when there is no apparent agenda presented. The agenda guys on both sides of the debate are so transparent that it is easy to just blow off what they say.
My agenda is DAL pilots perform DAL flying - whatever it takes to make that happen works for me. Pay is great, but future leverage is greater.
I think I understand T's perspective, I don't understand Bar's. There are reps who believe we'll be back at the table instantly if this is voted down and there are reps who think this is the final offer.
At the end of the day, I think it was deadhead that posted a long story that basically said "I'm okay with what we have today versus the unknown of what this TA represents." That's about where I am.
