They couldn't fly 190's in DAL colors, but the concern is they one day could do it in the way Alaska has been sadly devolving into: fly your own colors for everyone else as an all airline "connection" carrier somehow connected to some level of SkyTeam's bazillion "partner" airlines.

Yeah I know our scope is suppose to stop it. I'm just surprised we left a carve out for the only regional I know of operating 100,000lb airplanes.

That is sad but conveinent for management. I'm just curious since they already have a carve out how hard it will be to go ahead and turn those super jumbo rj's on us.

As of January 2012, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there are 10 pilot groups in mediation. (EIA, AA, GLA, USA, AWE, PIED, CAL, UAL, NAC, PSA) With a total of 110 cases currently under mediation and only 12 mediators, with 50 weeks available/year each. That's 600 weeks of mediation split among 110 cases (they do railroads too). Yeah, that sounds good, less than 6 weeks a year of mediation. No wonder it's a quagmire.

Duration of␣recent Section 6 Negotiations
Airtran – 7 Years
America West␣– 6 Years**
American – 6 Years**
Continental – 4 Years**
United␣– 3 Years**
US␣Airways – 3 Years**
** Still in negotiations

What facts do you have? Not rhetoric, but facts.

How is this not some violation of the RLA or mediations? At some point self help should be an option and airlines shouldn't be told they won't get released even before contracts are up. If that Airtran 7 year statement is correct then something is definitely screwed up because they weren't anywhere near the top of the industry.

Not only the RAH carve out, but when SkyWest does it (and they will at some point) the TA scope prevents it and demands DL fire them. But does anyone really believe we will make them do that? The leases and contracts! Oh the humanity of the iron clad contracts! It would cost trillions if we made them do this, oh let's grant relief for no reason at all just like we did for non union DPJ.
