Admittedly you havent been here that long so it would serve you well to read through bluetruthpilots.com

The email you read from the PAR team is carbon copy of the ones we have been sent over the past 7-8 years. Each email has always referred to the various committee's overzealous nature and that ultimately Jetblue management is the only one you can trust. In their words management is here for you. The open door relationship will protect you.
Historically this has been a lie. We have lost premium pay, health insurance, monthly credits and scope and T/E language. The list goes on and on.

This rhetoric from management is exactly what has happened time and time again. The give you a pay raise while you lose it in other areas. Joanna Gherity her self was very clear on this topic in the latest investor conference. The pilots want a raise but will be subject to give backs. Her words, not ours.

This time around the experienced and educated PVC want to make sure a raise does not come at the cost of scope, fragmentation or merger language. Jetblue management wants you to believe they harming your career.

The management you want to believe in is in fact worse than any you've been associated with previous. These people take and take while smiling, kissing babies and shaking hands. They are not your friends they are simply business people. It's time to stop looking at them as cute puppies and see them for the pitbulls they are. You're career is at stake.

Again, I suggest you call your PVC rep since, to date, you havent done so. You are scared to hear the truth but man up.

1. Summer vacation is nice, having the option to work more hours and get premium pay when I want to is even better than having that choice taken from me so that YOU can have the vacation week you want.

2. I took two vacations last summer. Just told prefbid the days I needed off, worked great.

3. Otherwise, I would call out sick for a trip of all else failed.

A breed vacation solution in my mind is changing the way we bid vacation so that senior pilots can't take ALL of the good weeks before anyone else gets anything. I have no confidence that would make it into a CBA however here at JB.

It doesnt matter if all the senior or junior pilots take the vacation slots or not. The point is Jetblue doesnt feel like making them available to the pilot group. Even though every other airline seems to have tackled this problem in one form or another.

Jetblue decides, you accept.

We have greater peaks and troughs being a heavy leisure airline. We could make more summer weeks available, we just have to hire more pilots and thus make all of the bid divisors lower so that we all block less hours.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, but we will make less money since the same amount of flying will be spread over more pilots. Is it really that hard to understand?

Then, after you get what you want, you will complain about low credit months and never getting premium pay. Even worse than NOW.

I think some of the angst comes from senior guys bidding all weeks of vacation during the summer, as opposed to a system of vacation bidding where you can only bid 1-2 weeks at a time and have several rounds of bidding.

Time to send in your cards. Get them in now and ask everyone you fly with to send one in as well.
I'm afraid you're right.

Just over 14 hours until ALPA represents us. It took 14 years of lies to get here, and we still have a few juicers that believe the DR is better than ALPA.

Youre wrong. As ugly as it is, ALPA is all we have.

Heres hoping for unity going forward
