Love how all the "got hired" posts are from guys with less than 40 posts....

In other words, guys who haven't contributed to the community, just took info from the site and then post they got a job. SMH.

I sincerely hope you post to help guys in the future instead of forgetting this website now that you've been hired.

Sorry, rant over.

The irony is that these posts you're complaining about are contributions to this site by themselves since it lets others know where they stand against those getting hired. Course I only have 9 posts at this time so what do I know. I'll be sure to get that count up so I can add my APC status to my resume.

This is my second post. Sorry for not participating more earlier, but I simply didn't feel I had anything useful to offer the group prior to being given a CJO since I didn't know if my approach to things was working or not. I'm happy to offer up any "advice" I can for those waiting for an invite. One thing that seems apparent to me is that there is no single sure-fire way to get an invite and all the advice on here reflects that. My advice once you do get the call: be yourself, they want to hire you and you'll most likely screw it up if you're trying to be someone you're not. Prior to getting the call: make sure your app is tight since you don't know when they've looked at it.

Flytyin - spot on about being yourself. Be yourself and let them decide if you fit in.

I wouldn't lose sleep over being accused of not "helping the community". Any guy who's been a T-38/F-16 IP/FE and Sqdr CC has helped the community.

If you click on a posters name one of the options is "more posts by the author". It allows others to judge the value of a poster's advice or opinion. I recommend that technique to people all the time. It can be enlightening. ;-)

So your saying post counts on APC is not a factor when it comes to getting a job?

It was one of the first questions I was asked. Just the count not the content.

Would you prefer that they contribute to the "blind leading the blind" syndrome that you see on other sites? I know that my first post was in the "who's been hired" thread because that was the first time I thought that I had anything useful to contribute. Up until then, I was just doing what everybody else was doing, namely tightening up all of my apps and networking like crazy.

I had no idea if any of it was working until....it worked. So I posted my stats to help the next guy. What good would it have done to post anything before I knew what worked?

I've still got a BUNCH to learn, so I stick around. I add something if I think it will help somebody, but that's still not very often.

Bad gouge is worse than no gouge at all.

I understand your sentiments, but everyone has something to contribute.
For instance, there is an entire subset called Career Builder. There are many who would love insight into the military career field, what it takes, why they should join etc. Please help them.

There are plenty of way to contribute. I just ask people do. Sorry if that makes me a tool.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Hey, bro, congrats on getting hired. I do not care one iota if you gained all kinds of knowledge from this site and never gave back. There's little you could add to what we already know. Hang around a bit and share as you will. Seriously...getting ripped on an internet forum for not sharing enough? Good lord...your couple posts are plenty......
