You're entitled to an opinion, of course! Are we allowed to question your opinions when you state them as, "I wouldn't even consider SWA, they are like another Jetblue..Not bad, just not as good as AA or UAL...
"???

And then when I ask you "What?! In what way? Certainly not in regards to pay scale, work rules, QOL, contract, fleet, business model....." you don't even respond.

So in regards to your opinion, why is SWA "not as good as AA or UAL"? And how are they "like another Jetblue (sic)"? What is that supposed to even mean?

SWA has domiciles in LAS, OAK and PHX. All very commutable from southern California. Further, OAK is the most junior base. There are about 100 reasons SWA should be, and is, included in this person's search, but you are too naive to realize any of them (or so it appears).

Ok, let me try to clarify what I was saying.. SWA and Jetblue are low cost carriers.. Absolutely nothing wrong with these airlines, I would love to fly for either one..However, Magic also has offers from AA and UAL..Magic wants to be L.A based and aspires to fly long haul as an option..SWA does not fly long haul so that should narrow down his choices to UAL or AA..He wants to live in Los Angeles, American has a base at LAX and they fly international from there..Not so difficult if basic logic is applied..Pay and benefits at UAL or AA are superior to those offered at SWA..Hope this helps understand the situation better.

Huge assumption on your part, and a terrible miss in reality. No newhire pilot at United would write something like this.

Based on your post history and the things you have written, I raise the BS flag. It all sounds way too fishy to be true. And what you write about the other airlines and especially how you write it. It's the type of stuff a college guy working his way through ratings would write. You're like the the Tim Martins story. Just way too many self-embellished accomplishments to be true in just that small a time period. I've been on various forums for a long time and IMO feel comfortable enough to raise the BS flag when I see it.

If you must be in LA then AA is a no brainer because commuting cannot be fun..

No airline pilot here writes like this. Go back to Flight Simming in your dorm.

Wow, with all of 2,500 hrs you only applied to one airline your entire life and be lucky enough to be hired by that one airline, United? If you really are a NYC boy then what would you care if you got Delta or AA instead? You'd get NYC right off the bat at both those places. No way with 2,500 hrs would someone be that picky as an airline pilot and apply only to United. Every pilot I know around 2,000-3,500 hrs has their apps out at several places, and at least 2-3 major airlines. No one just throws their dart in one basket. I know several military guys getting out now with ~2,500 hrs and each and every one of them has their apps at the big 4 (AA, DL, UA, SW). Some didn't even get called and they applied to the regionals just to get into 121 world and because they are not above that kind of flying.

I have a good friend at FedEx and he tells me that it's a very lonely job at times. Can't go wrong either way. Personally, I could never fly cargo due to my fear of a load shift on takeoff. Scary stuff.
Hahahaaa. That's your fear? Not like, say, lithium batteries.

I love it how you intended to write a legitimate word to describe the "enemy faith" of the Sunni Muslims and the APC sensor software changed it automatically into asterisks, thinking you were using profanity. Classic!!!!
