Is she senior enough to bid weekdays, either a line or simply reserve?

Default What are my chances?

I'll be retiring from the Army late next year with 3600 TT, 2000 RW and 1600 in King Airs with 1000 of that being PIC, another 600 PIC RW. Bachelor's degree from ERAU.

I'm currently working on my resume and beginning to get myself ready for the transition. I was curious what anyone thinks my chances are for any Major or Legacy? And I am looking for extreme honesty.

Thanks.

Chances will be a whole lot better as soon as you check the 121 bucket. I know several who got a call to interview at a major during or shortly after training at a regional. Beware SWA/FDX/UPS count zero helo time. Others kind of count it, but JB likes it the most (1 for 1). You'll be a lot more competitive with a jet type and some jet/121 time IMO. With your retirement, a short stay in the regionals wouldn't be that painful if you had to. Network now, go to Vets in Blue if JB appeals to you. Currency/recency is also important if you are sitting on staff somewhere not flying much. Get your apps together...can't hurt to try.

I would shoot for Jetblue, spirit, and frontier first. If that works out, great! Legacies love to poach from these guys. Legacies probably would want to see some 121 time.

If not, don't hesitate to jump on a QUALITY regional. Stay away from the crappy ones, they can ruin your career.

Thanks for the response.
Currency shouldn't be an issue as I'm currently deployed flying everyday, I'll be here till the end of March. I would be absolutely thrilled with JB if they gave me a call. I've been all over their Vets in Blue site and minimums page. I'm still a year out, but it's all I can think about or focus on.

Maybe you've read it, maybe not. But don't let a "year out" slow you down. Keep your focus NOW.

JB's process (like many others) isn't fast for many. Sure, you'll hear they "well I know a guy that filled out the application on Friday, serpareted on Monday, interviewed Tuesday, and was in class 2 weeks later". Yeah, good for THAT GUY. Those guys ARENT the norm.

JB, like others can "take their time" so to speak in the hiring process.
