Right, I've gone DNIF, then had to sit SOF, TOP-3, SDO....

Some guys have interviewed THREE times to get hired there. And IIRC, if he can reapply to DAL in a year, that means he didn't make it to the F2F on day 1.

But I'm just guessing at what it seems like he means.
That's correct. I had previously posted that I knew 4 guys who had interviews and these were the results.

The two that are "hired" by SWA had all their contacts called, employment services called to verify their employment and they had to do the drug test. They have a resume on at least three quarters of the chief pilot's desk's and higher than average rec's plus some high level ones. I feel confident...

The one who busted SWA said it went terrible and one interviewer questioned his integrity on the application. He updated his app shortly before the interview after he realized what the question wanted. The interviewer asked him if he was trying to hide anything. He said it was a misunderstanding but it was answered truthfully on the app at the time of the interview and fully explained. Guess that wasn't good enough. Pilots we know we're talking about that interview in the KDAL crew lounge. . Moral is get your stuff straight.

Within one week he interviewed at DAL (his first choice) and did well in the interview but probably did not on one of the tests. They told him to reapply.

AS hired May 2013
3300TT All active duty military in C-17, C-21
FTU IP/EP
No 121/135 experience
Masters from U of Phoenix (probably what cinched my hiring)
1 Internal rec

Took a couple of hours to break out my military hours (ARMS printout) into PIC/SIC format. Didn't factor in any UP, other or simulator time from any airframe. Made 100% of FP time as SIC, took 85% of MP/IP/EP as PIC and added the remaining 15% to SIC column. Added a 0.2 per sortie military conversion to PIC column only.

I'm not at all saying I was a lock to be hired but in hindsight, it was probably overkill on the effort to get too technical on my hours. The whole interview seemed to base itself on if you were a good fit for the company and not nitpicking fly crap from the pepper with my total time. Like I said, my Phoenix MBA likely outweighed the mil conversion.

I'm one for one on interviews to hiring ratio...have hope, good things are definitely out there!

Why do you think the Masters degree cinched the deal?

It probably wasn't the master degree. It was the red socks he wore.

I thought if one didn't get through the F2F it was the "one and done"?

I think he must be sarcastic. Not a dig against the MBA, but for anyone to really think that a U of P MBA is what sealed the deal for the job rather then who they are as a person must be messing around. Or at least I hope they are!

May very well be right now... but it is the future. Full on 4 year and graduate degrees are gonna be done online in the very near future to keep costs down. All Harvard is good for anyway is making contacts that will help you screw the rest of the country in the future. Econ 101 is Econ 101 whether you learn it in Taxachusetts or Montana.
