Something needs to draw the line. Whether it's military or comercial. It's understandable from a company perspective that a 'non-dependant' doesn't rate company perks. If you want your significant other to rate the perks, than commit yourself. Just sayin'.

Actually, that's a change since I was hired in 2000. My significant other (now my loving wife) was able to join me through indoc. Maybe it's changed back (or not). Haven't heard what they're going to do (or not do) if someone shows up with their same sex spouse (from the states that allow that). I know Delta has long allowed medical benefits to significant others.

That's the last reason to commit yourself. Just sayin'.

No offense, but you're an FNG to this whole airline thing, right?

Did you know that you can add a "non dependent" to your travel benefits? Don't even have to be "committed" to them. Just sayin'.....

She's been with me pretty much since I got my private pilot certificate. I'd have really liked to have shared the event with her.

It is kind of interesting that they dictate who can come. But, again, bottom line is DAL is still a great airline and all of us would take a job there. The point of the discussion wasn't to bash DAL's policy on pre-marital relations (haha). I think back in the day all the airlines used to do the nice dinners and the "welcome to the millionaires" club introduction. All I really want is a great contract with great pay and QOL, good fun pilots to fly with, and the rest is whatever

I took my mom. She talked about for many years. It meant a lot to her.

This. Going to be REAL interesting when (not if) it happens.

You obviously cannot discriminate openly when hiring gays. And there are gay married couples out there.
