737 NG Gents and Ladies,
Do you guys use the Boeing placard flap speed (250 kias) for Flaps 1, or do you you use a "company restricted" slower speed like (230 kias)?

At UA and previously at CO we used 230 kias for flaps 1 and 2 and 225 for flaps 5. I'm sure we get some sort of MX inspection break for doing it this way.

Just a mild curiosity.

At Delta, we are permitted to use the placard speeds, but encouraged to slow well below those before actually lowering the flaps.

We were not penalized for using Boeing placarded speeds, however in practice it was operationally prudent to use lower speeds.

We had lower speeds but then they changed it to placard speeds. Most still try to slow it down first but you have it as an option. No penalty for using the placard speeds.

Extend flaps at 10kts above applicable maneuvering speed at our NG operator. Flaps 1 and 2 are good for additional drag to increase descent rates without the use of the annoying speed brakes.

Like Mulcher said, no penalty for placard speeds. Fly them if you dare, but the airplane will snitch if you exceed. So most guys give themselves 10 knots or so to avoid an over-speed writeup.

Ok then, which operators can use speed brakes with flaps extended?

We stopped that a few years ago.
